Boardskillz are based in North Tyneside and specialise in Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Boards and Windsurfing. They are avid watersports enthusiasts and have backgrounds in windsurfing, surfing, kayaking and sailing. Subsequently they aim to introduce people to SUP or Windsurfing within a safe and structured environment, where the focus is on learning basic skills and above all having fun.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.

The RNLI also works to promote sea and beach safety.

Tynemouth Extreme was formed in 2002 to actively seek new exciting boards sports products and bring them to the UK market. In 2005 they opened their first outlet on the Seafront in Tynemouth as their catalogue of products had reached the stage where their own retail premises were necessary.

Since then their product range has kept growing and the shop is constantly improving to offer all the essential gear for the active extreme sports person. Current Directors and Founders, Nigel Mace and Stephen McArdle have over 30 years experience in active sports between them and use this knowledge to search out the best products and bring them to their customers. Threy have some new exciting products in the pipeline for this year as well as expansion of our current shop and a few other development possibilities……..

A free weekend of extreme sports action at the coast, Xperience'09 featured BMX, in-line skating, surfing and snow sports – perfect for those who like an adrenaline rush. Taking place in Tynemouth, Xperience'09 played host to thousands of extreme sport enthusiasts from across Europe. Spectators were able to join in on the action and learn from the very best in the business. With over 20 years of experience, Team Extreme did not disappoint with their exhilarating performances. Other highlights included a live music stage, urban art and more.

Meanwhile, surfers from around the world competed for prize money and tour points in the UKPSA North East Open, part of the Triple Crown of Surfing.
