Meet the team
Our team consists of experienced and professoinal surf coaches, professional surfers and knowledgeable welcoming shop staff. We all love surfing!
Head Coach Louis is former captain of the British Junior Surfing Team and is an ISA level 2 surf coach. He has been coaching surfing from beginner to advanced levels for over 7 years and spent two years coaching at the best surf school in Australia. Louis still competes on the WQS Longboard & Shortboard circuit in-between lessons.
Nathan is our Surf School Supervisor. He is great instructor with loads of enthusiasm and expertise which he gained working at surf schools in Australia. Nathan loves teaching private and intermediate lessons as well as beginner lessons. He is also a very keen rugby player and played in the junior Falcons rugby team.
Mel is the Manager of the Surf School and loves hanging down the beach in the summer with the team. Mel is a qualified surf and SUP instructor and French and Spanish teacher. She loves longboarding on Longsands and in Waikiki!
Si has worked at our surf school from the beginning and is one of our most experienced surf instructors. He is also a primary school teacher with transferrable skills for teaching children. Si is an all round great bloke and excellent surf teacher!
Isabel is a fantastic surf coach who originally started coaching in Portugal at her family surf school before moving to the UK. When she’s not teaching surf lessons she is a nuclear engineer!
Our Senior Coach Danny has worked as a surf instructor and senior lifeguard for over 10 years. He is also a geography teacher. A few years ago Danny helped to set up a surf school in Taiwan. In his spare team he loves charging big waves in Mullaghmore.
Darren has recently joined our team and is a brilliant instructor. Darren has a love for longboarding and has competed at the Boardmasters competition in the summer.
Hannah has worked at our surf school for several years and a does both lessons and hire. She loves teaching the minigroms (age 6-9 year olds) and working down at the surf school. She also enjoys longboarding.
As part of the family Enzo grew up with the Surf Co working in all areas of the business. During the last two seasons he has focused on surf instructing. He loves teaching and seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they stand up. Enzo is a longboarder.
